Forty-thousand ShowMeDos served

Crikey, we’re rocketing forward, we passed forty-thousand downloads last week with the addition of David Rawlinson’s three Car Maintenance videos. Now we’re up to 53 videos from 14 contributors, with 34 requests receiving votes for future videos. Not bad for evenings and weekends! I hope to start posting more tidbits on how to make screencasts […]

36,806 ShowMeDo Downloads

Well, that’ll be another milestone met for sure. 36,806 ShowMeDo videos downloaded since we started recording on January 1st with 2,669 of those in just the previous week. It is very good to see Kyran’s wxPython ‘hello world‘ introduction in the list, as it hasn’t yet been added to the main wxPython site – but […]

Cool new ShowMeDo – Make your own BushFinger art

My good friend and local artist Shardcore has made us a ShowMeDo on how to make your own BushFinger art-piece. His 10 minute video is superb and his site has all the necessary back-ground material (details here).

My First Wikipedia Edit

I have been using Wikipedia for years and have always wanted to contribute – and I never knew how easy it could be. Having noticed that the Wikipedia entry for Star Trek mentioned: A common and fondly-held superstition among fans is that the even-numbered Star Trek films are superior to the odd-numbered Star Trek films […]

ShowMeDo Updates

We’ve also getting great interest from visitors who want to make new videos – most cool! Some of the offers we’ve had include videos for open source audio/video tools like […]

Back from skiing in Canada

Ok, so I’ve been quiet for a while. I’ve spent the last two weeks skiing in Banff, Canada (webcam). I’ve taken a bunch of photos [edit – they’re here], but have to find my Compact Flash adaptor first of all. In the meantime, I’m most proud of this one – my first Double Black Diamond […]

Being proved wrong – in style

Not content to just try to verbally convince me that the even-numbered Star Trek films were superior to their odd-numbered bretheren, John went ahead and proved the result with a statistics test. Then kennon went and dugg it and the rest of the internet came visiting. Memetastic!

Two new ShowMeDo Videos for Python

I’ve added two new videos to ShowMeDo.com, both for the Python language (announced over here). The first is for how to write Python code using the SPE editor and the second is for debugging Python code using SPE and WinPDB. These compliment our original Python videos and those for IPython.
