My First Wikipedia Edit

I have been using Wikipedia for years and have always wanted to contribute – and I never knew how easy it could be. Having noticed that the Wikipedia entry for Star Trek mentioned:

A common and fondly-held superstition among fans is that the even-numbered Star Trek films are superior to the odd-numbered Star Trek films

and knowing that John had proven this ‘rule’ using IMDB data, I figured Wikipedia needed an update.

I made the entry a week back and it still stands, so I guess it is accepted. Woot! The paragraph now reads:

A common and fondly-held superstition among fans is that the even-numbered Star Trek films are superior to the odd-numbered Star Trek films. A statistical test based on IMDB data lends credence to this conclusion [1].

Ok, so the edit is minor, but it only took 5 minutes…I shall get more involved now – it is so easy!

Interesting to see that the day or so after your edit someone tried to list the Star Trek entry for deletion. Also good to see that the admins stepped in quickly and sorted out the ruckus.

Ah yes, looking at the history I see that you mean this one, there's also this one with the 'lactose-intolerant nerds' quote after the second paragraph.
